Ultherapy is a noninvasive skin treatment that uses a handheld high-frequency ultrasound (HIFU) device to increase collagen production and tighten areas of your skin. Though other kinds of HIFU facelift treatments are available, only Ultherapy has been cleared by the FDA.
The Ultherapy procedure is painless. At most, you might feel some tingling or heat while the device delivers treatment. Possible mild side effects include:
These side effects should disappear within a few days of the procedure.
Anyone who wants to soften or remove wrinkles and lines of the face or chest is a good candidate for Ultherapy. It’s an excellent alternative for anyone who wants a facelift but isn't a viable candidate for medical reasons or is nervous about going “under the knife.”
Ultherapy is a fairly simple outpatient procedure.
While you lie on the medical table, your Integrated Healthcare provider cleans the areas of your skin receiving treatment. They apply an ultrasound gel to the treatment areas and then smoothly move the Ultherapy handheld device over the area, delivering ultrasound energy to the specified locations.
Most Ultherapy procedures take 60 to 90 minutes to complete, and you can return to work or your regular activities immediately after treatment.
Most patients only require one Ultherapy treatment to receive the maximum benefit. Depending on the makeup of your skin and your body’s collagen-building process, you might benefit from additional treatments.
You should see initial results from your treatment within a few days, and you’ll continue to see improvements for up to three months.
How long the results last after the three-month improvement period depends on your body’s natural aging process. Once your skin begins to show signs of aging again, you can return to your Integrated Healthcare provider for additional touch-up procedures.
If you’re ready to eliminate your wrinkles and get back that youthful glow, call the Integrated Healthcare offices or book your consultation online.
