What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared body contouring procedure in which your Integrated Healthcare provider uses a cooling device to freeze stubborn fat cells in trouble areas of your body. The frozen fat cells die off, and your body eliminates them over time, slimming the treated area.

Who is eligible for CoolSculpting?

If you’ve been sticking to a diet and exercise program, but you just can’t shed those last few unwanted pounds, CoolSculpting may be right for you. It's intended for those who are in relatively good health but have one or two trouble spots. The procedure can address those stubborn pockets of fat, leaving you with a slimmer, more contoured figure.

CoolSculpting is not intended for patients who are very overweight or obese. If you suffer from obesity, speak with your provider about a more comprehensive weight loss plan.

What can I expect during a CoolSculpting procedure?

CoolSculpting is a noninvasive, outpatient procedure performed in the comfort of your Integrated Healthcare provider’s office. Your provider places a gel pad on the treatment area, followed by applicators that lower the temperature of the fat cells to freezing levels without damaging the surrounding tissue.

A CoolSculpting treatment typically takes up to an hour for each area treated. Your provider may recommend multiple appointments if you want to have more than one area treated.

Is CoolSculpting painful?

CoolSculpting isn’t usually painful. You’ll feel an intense cold during the procedure, but the area typically becomes numb within 10 minutes of treatment. You may also feel some tugging or pinching during the procedure. This is entirely normal and the result of the suction mechanisms in the applicator.

What can I expect after a CoolSculpting treatment?

CoolSculpting is an outpatient procedure that requires no downtime, so you can return to work or your normal activities right away. Following treatment, you may experience a few minor side effects, including:

  • Temporary redness
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Tingling or tenderness
  • Skin sensitivity

Side effects will typically go away within a week or two.

As your body eliminates the destroyed fat cells over time, you’ll begin to see results from your CoolSculpting treatment. Typically, you’ll see optimal results 1-3 months after the procedure.

If you’re ready to trim that stubborn fat quickly and easily, give the offices of Integrated Healthcare Medical Group Inc. a call or book your appointment online today.
